How Our Simulator Works
Our case opening simulator replicates the exact mechanics of CS2's unboxing system. When you open a case, our algorithm randomly selects a skin using the same probability distribution that Valve uses in-game. First, a rarity tier is chosen based on official drop rates. Then, a specific skin is randomly selected from that tier's pool. Wear value is generated using the skin's float range, and StatTrak status is determined by a separate 10% roll. The result: an experience identical to real case openings, with real Steam Market prices attached to every item.
Understanding CS2 Knife Odds
The knife (or gloves) is the rarest and most valuable item you can unbox from a CS2 case. With a 0.26% drop rate, that's roughly 1 in 385 case openings. To put that in perspective:
- At $2.49 per key, you'd spend an average of $959 before unboxing a knife
- You're more likely to flip a coin and get heads 8 times in a row (0.39%)
- Only about 1 in 4 knife unboxes will be worth more than the $959 you spent getting there
